Chess is a fun game that develops memory, logical thinking, problem-solving skills, concentration, imagination/creativity, and STEM skills. Chess has also been shown to raise students’ overall IQ scores. A Venezuelan study involving 4,000 second grade students found a significant increase in their IQ scores after only 4.5 months of systematically studying chess. At DTE, children will be able to both learn the fundamentals and more advanced concepts of chess. Through guidance and allowing the children to compete, we will foster their skills and academic achievement.
